Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Fan Favorites and a Siren Swatches and Review!

Provided for Honest Review

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquers - Fan Favorites and a Siren

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquers – Fan Favorites and a Siren

Good evening readers!  I hope that this post will make your Monday a little less murky and a little more magnificent!  Today I have some awesome Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers on the blog.  Let me tell you if you’ve ever wanted one of those polishes that you could never seem to snag because it was so popular?  Now’s the time.  Blue-Eyed Girl is going to be doing a PRE-ORDER on some of her Fan Favorites!   I have several to show you before I get down to the nitty gritty with all the information you’ll need to secure your own bevy of Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers.  Without further delay let’s get started.

First up I have Untrodden Snow:

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer - Untrodden Snow

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Untrodden Snow

Untrodden Snow is a perfect white crelly polish.  The maker describes the polish as, “White with blue flash and blue shimmers.”  Perfect description in my opinion.  Not only would this be an awesome base for nail art or stamping but the flash and shimmer leave it from feeling too sterile!

Application was good for a white polish which are notoriously a pain in the behind to work with.  This one didn’t leave me with chalky residue or anything of the sort during clean up either which I consider a miracle.  It is a crelly based polish so it’s a little bit “squishier” than a creme.  I do want to note that all Blue Eyed Girl Lacquers are designed to be used in one to two coats.  That means they may run thicker than other polishes on the market.  This is purposeful so that people can thin it to the consistency they prefer.  Some want a quick one to two coat mani and others tend to build in layers.  Personally I did thin this one a bit and used three thin layers coats which gave a perfect finish.

Next up I have Monster’s Tea at Tiffany’s:

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer - Monster's Tea at Tiffany's

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Monster’s Tea at Tiffany’s

Looooove this one.  This is sooo in my preferred color family.  One cannot own enough Tiffany Blue polishes.  They just can’t.  The maker describes this color as, “Tiffany blue with green to red shift.”  I love the extra little shifty shimmer in this one it’s like an acid green to a coppery red shift.

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer - Monster's Tea at Tiffany's

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Monster’s Tea at Tiffany’s

The formula on this one was fantastic!  I didn’t thin this one I left it as is and it was fully opaque in two perfect thin coats.  Nary a complaint here and I can’t wait to wear it again!

Now onto another polish that is going to be a staple in my collection, Bound to the City Life:

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer - Bound to the City Life

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Bound to the City Life

Oh.Em.Gee.  YES!  You might be asking yourself, “is that a dark teal jelly polish with teensie tiny multi-colored holographic sparklie thingamajigs?!?”  I am here to answer you with a resounding YES!  Yes that is exactly what this is!  I nearly passed out when I unwrapped this one.  I will use it again and again and again.  This is perfect for quick manis when you just want something dark and vampy on your nails.  The maker describes this one as, “Dark teal jelly with teal, turquoise, purple, and blue holo microglitters.”

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer - Bound to the City Life

Perfection in a bottle.  That’s really all I have to say about this one.  It’s a jelly but it is perfectly opaque in two coats and it applies like a dream.

*passes out*

Ok…I’m back I’m revived and depsite my shenanigans with the previous polish we’re up to my FAVORITE of the Fan Favorites I was sent.  Wanna Fall In Love Tonight:

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer - Wanna Fall In Love Tonight

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Wanna Fall In Love Tonight

*heavy breathing*  Ok, so yes, I’m the girl that is in love with blues, teals, turquoises, and greens.  But every so often a color comes around that just shouts at me and makes me want to reevaluate my preferred color family.  This is one of those polishes.  That beautiful orchid purple!  That golden-red shimmer!  I’m utterly smitten.  The maker describes this as, “Purple with glowing red shimmer.”

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer - Wanna Fall In Love Tonight

As if the gorgeousness wasn’t enough the formula on this is a true ONE COAT WONDER!  Just.One.Coat.  Seriously it doesn’t really get any better than that.  In case you missed it, this is one coat plus topcoat.  This one does dry to a satin finish.

Just this.  This is just everything.

Last but not least is the June 2015 Siren offering!  This is a special Siren to celebrate BEGL’s 2 Year Anniversary.  Siren’s Birthday Sprinkles!:

Blue glitter explosion!!!!  Absolutely fantastic glitter topper for summer manis.  This is another one that I will reach for often as it will look good over a myriad of bases!   The maker describes this one as, “Clear base with sky blue holo, navy holo, royal blue and Canadian blue glitters with blue microflakies.”  So much blue glitter that I’m in blue glitter overload!

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquers – Siren’s Birthday Sprinkles (over Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Monster’s Tea at Tiffany’s)

Ok you see all that glitter?  ONE coat.  Just one unfussed coat.  I didn’t manipulate, I didn’t dab, I didn’t fish, I didn’t contort myself into all different positions to try to coax the glitter out of the bottle and onto the nail.  Nope, I just dipped the brush and brushed it on.   Excellent formulation for a glitter topper!  Not to mention since it is all smaller sized glitters it’s not terribly topcoat hungry either and one coat of topcoat smoothed everything out for me.

Oh and in case you were wondering, yes it DOES look amazing over Wanna Fall in Love Tonight:

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers Review and Swatches

Nothing to Disclose

Hello my lovely readers!  I’m delighted to share a quick review and post of a recent release of Blue Eyed Girl Lacquers.  A couple of weeks ago there was a huge collaboration box available that had a bunch of different makers involved.  I was able to snag a couple of the items that were in the box and since not all of the polishes were exclusive to the box one of the ones I snagged has also been released for everyone by Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers!  Since it is available now I decided to share it with you so you can plan your Spring Polish Budget accordingly (Pro-tip:  Throw away the budget).  Enough of my rambling onto the polish!

This lovely lady is Kaffir Lily:

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers - Kaffir Lily

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers – Kaffir Lily

Kaffir Lily is a perfect creamy pastel, lavender-leaning, pink linear holographic polish.  As if that weren’t enough there is a strong pink glassfleck shimmer throughout.  The holographic arc is perfectly balanced to the creme base and gives you plenty of bang without getting overwhelming the way that some mega-holos can.  There’s a time and place for all of them but for Spring I like something a little more subtle, a little fresher, and yet still interesting.  The glassfleck shimmer adds a lot of depth and dimension.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers - Kaffir Lily

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers – Kaffir Lily

I really can’t say enough about the formula on this.  I expected a pastel holographic polish to be a bit tricky.  Sometimes pastels can be streaky, holographic polishes tend to dry a bit faster on me, not to mention lighter colors for me tends to mean that I’ll be doing no less than two coats and usually three.  Yeah, so, I was worried for NOTHING.  This polish was a dream to apply, I got excellent coverage, and it didn’t streak or drag.  Wait until I tell you this because you’re NOT going to believe it…ONE COAT WONDER!  I haven’t used that phrase in a long time it seems.  These photos show ONE coat plus topcoat.

Polishes used:  Barielle – Nail Rebuilding Protein; Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers – Kaffir Lily; Digital Nails – Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That Topcoat.

You know the drill this isn’t the only great thing available at the Blue-Eyed Girl Website so you should definitely go and check it out.  While you’re there snag a bottle of Kaffir Lily, you won’t regret it.  You can also follow Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers on Facebook and Instagram.

New to Me Brand! Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer!

Provided for Honest Review

Now I can’t begin to tell you how over the moon excited I am.  I’ve been reading Julie’s blog for a long time and Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer has definitely been on my radar but unlike Pokemon a girl can’t seem to “catch ’em all” when it comes to nail polish.  So you can imagine my delight (accompanied by some fangirling) when she offered to send me some of her new Summer Holos to review!

Now I like Holos; especially in sun drenched summer shades.  All of these shades were inspired by sunrises and sunsets on the beach, you pick the beach!  But I wanted to kick it up a bit and have a little fun and as I was photographing the teaser photo I put up on Instagram I realized that all of the colors really played well together!  So without further ado…

First up we have Intersecting Lines in the Sand:

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquers - Intersecting Lines in the Sand

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Intersecting Lines in the Sand

This is a lovely soft golden yellow medium density linear holographic with some distinctly green undertones.  In addition there is a blue to pink to purple shifting shimmer throughout.   I’m not the biggest fan of yellow but I found this one to be very wearable and flattering even on me!

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquers - Intersecting Lines in the Sand

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Intersecting Lines in the Sand

Now formula.  Formula is just spectacular in my opinion.  A lot of holos are too thin or sheer and this one is fully opaque in two thin coats.  In fact the maker says that she specifically formulated the holos in this collection for opacity in very few coats so you may actually need to thin yours slightly if you prefer a thinner application.  I didn’t find that I needed to on mine.

Products used:  Glisten & Glow – Stuck on Blu; Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Intersecting Lines in the Sand, Dawn Breaks, Fare the Wind, and Ocean Warmed by the Sun; Digital Nails – Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That Topcoat; striping tape.

Next up we have Fare the Wind:

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquers - Fare the Wind

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Fare the Wind

I love this one so hard!  This is a gorgeous blurple medium density linear holographic with a blue shifting micro-shimmer and red micro-flakies. I love that these aren’t just plain holos.  Don’t get me wrong I like holos but I do find that if you’ve seen one plain linear holo you’ve often seen them all, so I love it when makers add some fun shimmers and shifting aspects!

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquers - Fare the Wind

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Fare the Wind

Again formula was delightful on this – pictures show two thin coats with topcoat.  Also even though it is a very pigmented polish I found that it cleaned up very nicely.  Sometimes blues and purples are a little bit of a pain to clean up around the cuticle.

Products used:  Glisten & Glow – Stuck on Blu; Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Fare the Wind, Intersecting Lines in the Sand, Dawn Breaks,  and Ocean Warmed by the Sun; Digital Nails – Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That Topcoat; striping tape.

Next up is one of my top two favorites of this grouping.  Now this may surprise you since I’m sure you’ve noticed my penchant for teals and blues but my second favorite of the four is Ocean Warmed by the Sun:

Blue Eyed Girl - Ocean Warmed by the Sun

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Ocean Warmed by the Sun

Aaaaah I just want to run around flailing at how pretty this one is!  This is a light blue-leaning teal linear holographic with a purple to pink shifting micro-shimmer and a slight flash of sea-green.  Again I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate that it’s not just a plain holographic polish.

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquers - Ocean Warmed by the Sun

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Ocean Warmed by the Sun

This one had an impeccable formula as well in fact I will need to sound the alarm:  we have a ONE COAT WONDER right here!  I can’t think of how long it’s been since I was able to swipe on ONE COAT of polish and a topcoat and it be perfect!  Not a hint of VNL in sight!

Products used:  Glisten & Glow – Stuck on Blu; Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Ocean Warmed by the Sun, Intersecting Lines in the Sand, Dawn Breaks,  and  Fare the Wind; Digital Nails – Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That Topcoat; striping tape.

Last but certainly not least is my favorite of the bunch.  It’s such a flattering shade on me and I was loathe to take it off (I swatched it first!  That’ll teach me!)  Dawn Breaks:

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquers - Dawn Breaks

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Dawn Breaks

Isn’t she lovely?  Now my daddy always told me that “A red sky at night is a Sailor’s delight, a red sky at morning is a Sailor’s warning”  But I assure you no sailors were harmed by this polish.  Also if this is a warning it can only be a warning of loveliness!  This is a coral-leaning red medium density linear holographic with gold and purple micro-shimmer throughout!

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquers - Dawn Breaks

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Dawn Breaks

Darling readers, we have another ONE COAT WONDER!!!  That’s right.  I can foresee this being a go-to summer shade for me especially when I’m crunched for time!  Not a hint of streakiness or balding and in fact all of these were very nicely leveled.  Also with colors like this (RED) I expect a devil of a time (har har, you see what I did there?) with clean up but this one really didn’t give me any trouble at all!

Products used:  Glisten & Glow – Stuck on Blu; Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Dawn Breaks, Ocean Warmed by the Sun, Intersecting Lines in the Sand,  and  Fare the Wind; Digital Nails – Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That Topcoat; striping tape.

As you can see I did a simple color blocked accent nail with all four of the colors.  I loved how they worked together which just shows a lot of thought and cohesion has gone into this collection!

Now you can get these lovelies and the rest of the collection on July 20th and will be available in their Shop.  Make sure that you’re following Blue Eyed Girl on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest to keep up to date on all the news and to see more pictures and swatches of these and the other colors in the collection!
